PAKISTAN-YOUNG GIRLS KIDNAPPED – Monday 4 August
August 4, 2008
“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’” (Mark 10:27)ᅠ
Dear Friends,
A Christian father, Younis Masih, in Pakistan is in a legal battle with kidnappers for the custody of his pre-teen daughters, who allegedly have been forced to convert to Islam.
Saba Younis, 13, and Aneela Younis, 10, went missing on June 26 in the small town of Chowk Munda. The kidnappers filed for custody of the girls at the local police house on June 28, stating that the sisters had converted to Islam and their father no longer had jurisdiction over them.
On July 29 Judge Saghir Ahmed ordered Aneela and Saba, to be temporarily placed in a government-run women’s shelter under Muslim caretakers.ᅠ
They were forbiddenᅠto see their parents until an August 4th (today) court hearing, when they will again testify that they have converted to Islam.
“Muslim clerics have threatened the judge that if he allows the girls to go with the Christians, they will kill him,”
The young girls appear to be persuaded by their captors that they are to marry men from the Islamic Faith.
Please Pray:
Pray little Saba and Aneela will be released by the judge back into the custody of theirᅠChristian Family.
Pray that the minds of these young girls may be kept safe from indoctrination.
Pray against the rise of incidents of kidnapping of young girls for ransom or to covert to the Islamic Faith for marriage.
